Samaritan Memorial Foundation
Foundation History
In 1993, the Administrator, Director of Marketing, and a local attorney began to discuss the feasibility of a support group for the hospital, separate from its personnel. The ground work was laid and proposed by-laws were drawn for the Samaritan Memorial Foundation. By late January of 1994, a twelve member board had accepted the obligation of administering the Foundation and the Articles of Incorporation were officially approved.
The Samaritan Memorial Foundation supports the hospital's goal of providing quality health care for Macon and the surrounding communities. The goal of the Foundation is to support and assist the hospital in improving the current services and to aid in adding new essential ones. Some of the Foundation's most recent projects include:
Monitoring System for Emergency Room
Overhead Lifts for Patient Rooms
New Roof on Total Family Health Care
6,000 sq. ft. Expansion of Total Family Health Care
Telemetry System for the Nursing Floor
Expansion of Total Family Health Care

Medical Scholarship Program Contributions $ 12,000
The Foundation annually gifts each of the departments at the hospital items from their equipment wish list for patient care.
