Position summary: Primarily responsible for obtaining a diagnostic radiograph while maintaining patient care and safety.
General purpose: Patient care; quality assurance.
Role qualifications:
Education
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Science
Experience
- Six (6) months previous experience preferred but not required.
Licenses/Certificate
- Registration/registration eligible by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist.
Position responsibilities:
- Transports patients to and from the Radiology Department.
- Assist all patients on and off the x-ray/CT tables.
- Positions patients for specific diagnostic exam.
- Regulates and controls exposure of radiation to obtain a diagnostic radiograph.
- Assist Radiologist during all fluoroscopic and special procedures.
- Documents proper patient history for all radiologic exams.
- Operates mobile x-ray equipment, CT and x-ray machines.
- Performs x-rays and CT scans on emergency callbacks, weekends, and holidays on a rotational scheduled basis.
- Competent care will be given to patients of all ages, including pediatrics & elderly.Essential skills and experience:
- CPR certified.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Proper positioning with minimal radiation exposure to the patients.
- Proper utilization of radiation equipment to minimize the hazards of extraneous radiation exposure.
- Strong patient orientation.
